Animal Chiropractor, Veterinary Acupuncture
Dr. Kirsten has had a strong interest in complementary medicine since Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) restored her childhood mare back to being rideable after over a year of lameness and unsteadiness on her feet. The mare had been seen by multiple equine specialists with very little improvement, but after acupuncture and herbs she came back to her full potential and went on to win multiple state and national titles!
Dr. Kirsten earned her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 2008. She then completed a one-year internship at an equine facility outside Austin, TX. During her internship, she worked with a diverse clientele… from racing, breeding and showing to pleasure riding. She even performed acupuncture on top Professional Bull Riders bulls!
During her veterinary schooling and internship Dr. Kirsten shadowed multiple TCVM practitioners throughout the United States. She also spent a month studying in China and Korea with Dr. Keum Hwa Choi and 13 fellow University of Minnesota veterinary students.
Dr. Kirsten completed her animal chiropractic training at Options for Animals in Kansas in 2011.
She is certified in animal chiropractic by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association and in veterinary acupuncture by the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine.
Just before Thanksgiving in 2013, Dr. Kirsten and her husband moved from Texas back to Minnesota to start her own all-species animal chiropractic service. As a solo practitioner, she had the opportunity work on animals from big to small including dogs, cats, horses and cattle.
Dr. Kirsten’s professional interests include performance animals as well as geriatrics. She looks forward to adding even more additional modalities to her tool kit to help animals feel great and
