When is Chiropractic Care Indicated?
As is often the case in your veterinary practice, we at Chiropractic for EveryBody are frequently contacted by a client because something about their companion has changed. They are no longer able to jump into the car, on to the couch, or they just seem more subdued than before.
Sometimes there is a frank ambulation or pain issue present… sometimes inappetance… sometimes the performance of an athlete is showing a decline. Any way that an animal has of exhibiting discomfort or dysfunction has the potential of being impacted by chiropractic care.
Chiropractic can also help prevent pain / discomfort / dysfunction through maintenance care, which we are happy to provide at the owner’s request. Maintenance care can do a lot to support an animal that is subject to repetitive stress injuries such as a fence runner or competitive athlete.
Other situations in which chiropractic can be particularly helpful are after anesthesia, surgery or trauma. These traumas can be a simple as a slip and fall on the ice, or an “over-did it” for the weekend cabin warrior!
Chiropractic care can be especially inspiring with the geriatric patient. Many mobility issues that get assigned to “natural aging” in cats and dogs can be diminished through chiropractic adjusting. The improved proprioceptive input to the central nervous system gained through chiropractic adjustments can really brighten the spirit of the senior.
