Hello CFE Friends!
I hope this letter finds you and your furry friends all well.
It is a trying time we find ourselves in, and the stress can be overwhelming in all ways. My family and I are trying to focus on the small things each day, and to bring forward our positivity. Our 2 year old son is certainly good at living life to its fullest and feeling all the feels! Our dogs Birch and Smokey are enjoying all the extra time with us, and plenty of walks. And we love noting all the first sightings of spring, as nature follows the normal rhythm of the season. We have killdeer, red winged blackbirds, and robins back in our neighborhood and have seen the wood ducks swimming in the small ponds that are already ice-free. Swans, sandhill cranes, and Canada geese fly over regularly.
I’m excited about CFE’s new Telemedicine offerings! This allows me to do telephone intake sessions during this time that I can’t see your pets in person. We can schedule a time to go over the history portion of your initial chiropractic and/or TCVM/acupuncture appointment, so that I will be familiar with your pet and his/her specific issues and individual needs.
Once we can restart normal visits, you’ll have your first visit with me scheduled as a half-hour visit, rather than the longer initial visit.
What can you do with your pets while your normal routines are disrupted, and your typical fun activities, training, and competitions are cancelled? My dogs at least are in the midst of their spring shed, so we are doing lots of grooming. This is great for lowering blood pressure and relieving stress! Plus it keeps the house slightly cleaner. You can also do fun, challenging training activities in your living room – keeping in mind your dog’s physical capabilities and/or limitations, of course.
Which of these tricks does your dog already know?
- Bark on Command
- Shake Hands
- Army crawl
- Roll Over
- Play Dead
- Stand on Hind Legs
Please reach out if you have questions or concerns about your pets. We are here to help in any way we can during this time. And I, for one, would love the excuse to procrastinate my cleaning tasks a little longer (today I tackled the terrifying dust/hair bunnies under and behind the refrigerator! Yikes!)
